MOONTA BAY

Moonta Bay is a popular spot to watch the amazing Copper Coast sunsets.

 

Moonta Bay has beautiful sandy beaches and coves, clear blue waters and an L shaped jetty with an attached swimming enclosure, perfect for a walk or to throw in a line and see what is biting. Splash Town, a free to use community waterpark is located on the foreshore near the carpark, playground, bbq area and cafes and restaurants.

An end point to Walk the Yorke, walks along the beach to Port Hughes and further along South Beach are popular for all ages. Dogs are welcome on the beach if they are under the effective control of their owners.

Moonta Bay has a caravan parks as does nearby Port Hughes, there are also two motels at Moonta Bay. A wide variety of holiday homes and cabins are also available to suit all budgets. Two of the hotels in the Moonta township have rooms available. Moonta is also an RV Friendly town.

In Moonta Bay you will find a café/general store and two restaurants overlooking the jetty and Spencer Gulf with options available from breakfast through to lunch and dinner. In nearby Moonta a bank with ATM, supermarket, post office, chemist, doctors, dentist and other health professionals. A wide choice of shops covering clothing, shoes, variety, homewares, real estate agents, op shops, antiques and collectables. Taxi and passenger services cover the area and a bus connects with Adelaide. (bookings are required for the Moonta Bay bus stop)
